Drone/Aerial Approach Collaboration Event (CE)

Download Event Summary

Purpose

LANDWERX, in collaboration with Landus, will host a Collaboration Event (CE) to identify needs and define requirements for Drone/Aerial Approach for agricultural End Users.

Objective

This event will serve to explore potential solutions with Industry, Academia, and Labs based on an understanding of current sources of drones, aerial imaging, and sensing abilities to help determine desired future use in agriculture. Landus and farmer-owners seek to understand current limitations of overhead imaging and remote sensing applications to develop approaches to allow efficient data collection to drive superior decision-making for farmers and agricultural producers.

Background

The use of drones and collecting aerial imagery are key elements to improve the End Users’ awareness of in-field conditions throughout crop production cycles. Aerial imagery and sensors can provide high-resolution, real-time, and customizable information on various aspects of crop health and performance. By combining aerial imagery, sensors, and other technological capabilities, End Users’ can generate predictive insights that can help optimize operations and production outcomes in an agricultural landscape.

Why You Should Participate

The Collaboration Event (CE) is designed to provide insights to ensure that potential partners understand the problem set(s) fully and to increase the likelihood of matching their technologies with End User needs. This CE is also an opportunity for attendees to network and form partnerships that may provide a more comprehensive solution.

Following the CE, LANDWERX may be utilized to analyze innovative solutions, seek paths for developing or refining novel solutions, pursue an “off-the-shelf” product, and/or explore other possibilities for teaming arrangements for co-development.

Methodology

During this design-thinking session, Landus and farmer-owners will interact with potential Industry, Academic, and Lab partners and further communicate operational needs, performance goals, and other desired criteria for the Drone/Aerial Approach.

This event will take place in person in Des Moines, Iowa.
